Give A Kid a Camera is an opportunity to share photos of nature taken by children. Each Tuesday, I’ll offer up an idea of what to look for to get you and your explorers inspired to head outside. You can post just a picture or share a story – it’s totally up to you.
This Week’s Idea
Signs of spring found in your own backyard, at a local park or at another favorite place in nature.
The big explorer took this picture in our front yard yesterday. He says flowers are the biggest sign of spring for him. I suppose with only mild shifts in temperatures from one season to the next (and no snow), that makes sense!
Next Week’s Inspiration
A favorite tree
How to Join the Fun
- Post a photo of nature taken by a child on your blog, Facebook page or flickr. (Please only share photos that you have permission to share.)
- Link back here in your post so your readers can check out other photos and join the fun, too.
- Add the link to your photo and a descriptive title to the list below.
This linkup will stay open through Monday, April 18, 2011, so feel free to join up any time this week.
Happy exploring!

@HSofia: Good idea – thanks for suggesting it!
Oktobre – if you don't have a website, but have Twitter, maybe you can post the photo thru Twitter? (Twitter will give you a link to post here.)
@Oktobre: Fantastic – you should link up one of your daughter's photos here!
I've done this with my daughter, Inara. She is 2.5 and we gave her an older camera that we used to use as our main camera. She loves to click away. Her perspective and what she likes to take pictures of is very interesting. I have a Facebook page for her and sat her down with me and we picked the ones we wanted to share with our friends and family.
