I realize it’s been almost two months since we kicked off the Fall Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt. But guess what? There’s still an entire month left to play along!
When we first started our hunt, we were looking for signs of fall. Then came photos that captured the change we noticed in similar items (like leaves and weather) from one day, week or month to the next. Lately, our time outside has revolved a lot around family traditions. I bet yours has, too.
Here are a few examples from our Fall Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt list.
#9: Harvest
I was elated to be able to introduce The Explorers to pomegranate seeds this fall. Not just any pomegranates mind you, but those from the very same tree I picked from as a child.
#19: Celebrate
Since my dad passed away in 2009, we’ve spent each of my birthdays at the family cabin in Yosemite. Before I even knew it, it seems we’d created a new tradition.
#22: Sweet treat
We are a family of apple lovers, so fall is full of yummy goodness. First, there is an apple picking adventure. Then there is the baking of an apple treat. Last year, a pie; this year mini-pies.
If you haven’t downloaded your copy of the Fall Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt, now’s the time. Getting outside and into nature is a terrific way to spend time together with loved ones during the holidays. And it’s a great excuse to head outside when the weather might be a little less than inspiring.
Ready to start playing? Head over to the Fall Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt and get started!
Remember: This scavenger hunt is meant to be fun, so don’t worry if you miss an item or two. The point of all of this is to get outside with your family and connect with nature.
We are so very fortunate to have a cabin in Yosemite. Spending time there is a tradition passed down now to the third generation.

Hope you're enjoying many special traditions this fall!
Your boys are little angels!
I must say you are very lucky to have a cabin in the mountains, it looks a beautiful place.
I do enjoy pomegranate and how lovely to pick from the same tree!xxxxx
