Back-to-School Green Hour Tip: Keep It Simple

by Debi Huang

Today’s post is part of “Your Green Hour Survival Guide,” a series which I hope will inspire you to make getting outside every day a habit.

It’s official: summer’s over. At least the part with the long, lazy days spent doing whatever we want. The Big Explorer went back to school last week giving our carefree days of summer a big reality check.

But no fear! Getting our 15 minutes outside everyday can (and will) still happen. We just need to simplify a little – at least while we’re all readjusting to life with school, homework and other unexpected demands.

So this week, we’re going to enjoy some of life’s simpler pleasures. Here’s what’s on our agenda. Five ideas – one for each day of the week:

  • Walk to (and/or from) school.
  • Eat outside.
  • Do some cloud watching.
  • Blow bubbles.
  • Trace our shadows on the sidewalk.

How about you – what would you add to your “Outdoor To-Do List?”

It's always nice to share.
