I make no claims to be particularly crafty. But like most kids, The Explorers are huge fans of crafts. Thankfully, nature and crafting go together nicely, making my job as the family’s Lead Crafter a little easier.
When it comes to nature crafts, I aim for activities that don’t require much more than natural materials we can find right in our own backyard. In addition to some basic crafting supplies (like glue, paper, tape and scissors), here are a few fun natural items to let the kids get crafty with:
- Sticks
- Flower petals
- Seeds and seed pods
- Leaves
- Rocks
- Bark
- Moss
- Pine cones
- Shells
You can find a history of the nature crafts we’ve created tucked away nicely in the blog’s archives. But I thought it would be fun to share the top ten reader favorites right here.
